U4/U5: Introduction into soccer and physical literacy. Activities based around players exploring the ball and fun games to develop motor skills.

U7/U9: Developing a love for the ball and challenging players to be creative and brave with it. Players will be introduced to skills needed to play the game such as dribbling, passing and shooting. Games will be played but scores wont be kept.

U11/U12: Skills learnt in the earlier stages are now enhanced and a slight tactical element is introduced to the player. Games will be played and scores will be kept but coaches are encouraged to make games meaningful and avoid high scores.

Middle and high school: Using technical and tactical skills learnt in the earlier    stages of development and executing them in games. Scores will be kept with a league standing.

What will the sessions look like? (U7-U13)

  • Upon registration players will be put into groups that best suit their skill level and will support them best in their development.
  •  On the field the group is on there will be two stations that will be run by our MHSA coaches. The group will be split into two with each half doing one station and after 15 minutes they will swap.
  •   The last 30 minutes will be games and the group will be split into teams.

Why are we restructuring the program?

  • Player development focused
  • Community environment
  • More touches, more repetitions
  • Skills can be put into practice straight away
  • Better flowing sessions
