Registration Information

REFEREE COURSES

Please note the following information for referee courses in 2021.

 

Entry Level courses can be requested  in the Fall months if you need new referees to support your programs.

 

We are following the same format as we did in the spring/summer months of 2021. Pre-course modules, online webinar, online exam, practical field session. The course must be requested 21 days prior to your field session so that participants have sufficient time to complete all steps.

 

When the requested is submitted in Refcentre, book 2 sessions with the date and time of your practical session. This should only be done after you have confirmed the venue for the practical session, in particular if it is something that you need to book with a third party. Alberta Soccer will adjust the webinar date and time, based on instructor and online platform availability.

 

There are still two payment options:

  • We are now offering two payment models for course student registration. ‘Student pays host’ (you, same as before)’ or ‘Student pays Alberta Soccer’ (new). Details of how this works are on the slides.
  • If you choose the ‘Student Pays Alberta Soccer’ payment model, all students will be charged $100 online during the registration process. They will be automatically approved upon payment. This will basically be first come, first served. The single price point is required by the online payment system.
  • If you wish to have the students pay Alberta Soccer, but still have some control over who registers, you could make the course ‘private’ and provide the code only to the people you want. This would however mean that you might exclude some people in your area who wish to become referees, but don’t contact you for the code. Once they have the code, they would be automatically approved upon payment.
  • If you choose ‘Student Pays Host’, you will have full control over who you approve, based on payment received etc.
  • Any courses where the student pays the host, will be invoiced to the district at $100 (inc. GST) per student irrespective of the student’s age. This is a reduced price for 2021, as the referee registration portion is lower (50%) in 2021. We ask that you take this reduction into consideration when setting the price that you will charge students.

 

Indoor Refresher (Boarded) – will be offered online by Alberta Soccer in the same format as we had for outdoor refresher. The first refreshers will be offered on September 15th and 16th, with two per week until demand drops off. Districts do not have to arrange anything for these other than reminding your referees that they need to take one to referee boarded soccer. Alberta Soccer will also be reminding referees of this requirement.

 

Indoor Conversion (Boarded) – will be offered as online pre-course modules,  2.5 hour online webinar and a 1 hour field session, preferably on an indoor boarded field. These courses will be requested by individual districts, so that they coordinate with field sessions. To ensure instructor and online resource availability, they should be requested no less than 10 days in advance of the field session. If you are planning to host an Entry Level course, the conversion field session should be scheduled at least two weeks after the Entry Level field session. This is to allow people time to complete the online and webinar portion.

2021-22 INDOOR PROGRAMS - REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!

We are excited to open registration for our 2021-22 Indoor programs.  We have developed a comprehensive series of programs that will be led qualified staff.  Our schedule makes it possible for players to choose multiple programs to tailor their experiences to meet their interests.  

Mini Programs

U4 (2018)

U4 program will consist of an 8-week co-ed program consisting of one 60-minute session per week.  The program will run on Mondays at 5:30pm at the FLC.  The Fall Program will run from October 12th (first session is Tuesday to avoid Thanksgiving Monday) until November 29th and the Winter Program from January 10th until March 7th.  The program’s registration fee is $125. 

  • Fall 8 Sessions -                                  $125      Registration August 19th – September 27th
  • Winter 8 Sessions -                              $125      Registration August 19th – December 27th
  • Both programs -                                   $205      Registration by Sept 27th or in the office.

U5 (2017)

U5 program will consist of an 8-week co-ed program consisting of one 60-minute session per week. The program will run on Mondays at 5:30pm at the FLC.  The Fall Program will run from October 12th (first session is Tuesday to avoid Thanksgiving Monday) until November 29th and the Winter Program from January 10th until March 7th.   The program’s registration fee is $125. 

  • Fall 8 Sessions -                                $125      Registration August 19th – September 27th
  • Winter 8 Sessions -                           $125      Registration August 19th – December 27th
  • Both programs -                                 $205      Registration by Sept 27th or in the office.

 

U7 (2015 & 2016)

U7 program will consist of an 8-week co-ed program consisting of two 60-minute sessions per week.  The program will run on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30pm at the FLC.  The Fall Program will run from October 12th (first session is Tuesday to avoid Thanksgiving Monday) until December 1st  and the Winter Program from January 10th until March 9nd.  The program’s registration fee is $205. 

  • Fall 16 Sessions -                              $205      Registration August 19th – September 27th
  • Winter 16 Sessions                            $205      Registration August 19th – December 27th
  • Both programs -                                 $400       Registration by Sept 27th or in the office.

 

Winter Leagues

U9 (2013 & 2014)

U9 FUNdamentals will be a 6-week program where players will develop their skills through a series of fun activities and games.  The program is led by Allan Siwela and will run on Mondays at 5:30pm at the FLC from October 11th until November 17th.  The registration fee for this program is $50.

U9 Girls League will consist of 24 sessions that will run from November 23rd until December 16th and January 11th until March 10th.   This program will consist of one 60-minute training session and one 60-minute game per week.  The sessions will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30pm at the FLC.  The program’s registration fee is $225.

U9 Boys League will consist of 24 sessions that will run from November 23rd until December 16th and January 11th until March 10th.   This program will consist of one 60-minute training session and one 60-minute game per week.  The sessions will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30pm at the FLC.  The program’s registration fee is $225.

U9 Registration Fees:

  • FUNdamentals -                    $50       Registration August 19th – September 27th
  • U9 Winter Leagues -             $225     Registration August 19th – November 9th
  • Both programs -                    $250    Registration August 19th – September 27th

U12 (2010, 2011, 2012)

U15 Girls League will consist of 24 sessions that will run from November 22nd until December 15th and January 10th until March 9th.   This program will consist of one 60-minute training session and one 60-minute game per week.  The sessions will be on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:30pm at the FLC.  The program’s registration fee is $250.

U15 Boys League will consist of 24 sessions that will run from November 23rd until December 16th and January 11th until March 10th.   This program will consist of one 60-minute training session and one 60-minute game per week.  The sessions will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:30pm at the FLC.  The program’s registration fee is $250.

U18 (2004, 2005, 2006)

U18 Girls League will consist of 24 sessions that will run from November 22nd until December 18th and January 10th until March 12th.   This program will consist of two 60-minute games per week.  The sessions will be on Mondays at 8:30pm and Saturdays at 9:30am at the FLC.  The program’s registration fee is $250.

U18 Boys League will consist of 24 sessions that will run from November 24th until December 18th and January 12th until March 12th.   This program will consist of two 60-minute games per week.  The sessions will be on Wednesdays at 8:30pm and Saturdays at 10:30am at the FLC.  The program’s registration fee is $250.

U18 Registration Fees:

  • U18 Winter Leagues -                    $250      Registration Aug 19th – Nov 9th

 

 

RASC

U12 RASC Identification (2010 & 2011)  The MHSA’s technical staff led by our Coordinator of Player and Coach Development, Allan Siwela, will identify promising young players from the U12 Leagues.  These identified players will be invited to take part in an introduction to the RASC program.  The selected group will take part in additional training sessions and will attend additional competitions.  Any U12 players that are interested in being considered for the U12 RASC program are strongly encouraged to take part in the U12 FUNdamentals program. 

U13 Girls RASC Program (2009,2010, 2011) will consist of 32 60-minute sessions led by the CPCD and RASC coach from October 18th until December 11th and January 10th to March 12th.  The sessions will be on Mondays at 7:30pm and Saturdays 9:30am at the Cypress Centre.  The program’s registration fee is $350.  RASC try-outs will take place during the final week of September with players being selected by Oct 4th.   At this time RASC players will register for any combination of programs listed below.  The RASC try-out fee is $15. 

U13 Boys RASC Program (2009, 2010, 2011) will consist of 32 60-minute sessions led by the CPCD and RASC coach from October 18th until December 11th and January 10th to March 12th.  The sessions will be on Mondays at 7:30pm and Saturdays 9:30am at the Cypress Centre.  The program’s registration fee is $350.  RASC try-outs will take place during the final week of September with players being selected by Oct 4th.   At this time RASC players will register for any combination of programs listed below.  The RASC try-out fee is $15.

  • U13 RASC, Winter League, U12 FUNdamentals,-  $600 Registration Oct 4th- Oct 6th

U17 Boys RASC Program (2005 & 2006) will consist of 32 60-minute sessions led by the CPCD and RASC coach from October 19th until December 12th and January 11th to March 13th.  The sessions will be on Tuesdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 1:00pm at the Cypress Centre.  The program’s registration fee is $350.  RASC try-outs will take place during the final week of September with players being selected by Oct 4th.   At this time RASC players will register for any combination of programs listed below.  The RASC try-out fee is $15.

IMPORTANT NOTE FROM THE MHSA OFFICE

 Please note that the proposed game days may change due to registration numbers, number of teams in divisions, field availability and cohort sizes.

We understand that this information is important for family scheduling and we will always endeavor to follow the proposed schedule.  However, there may be circumstances that arise that require changes to the proposed schedule.

All registered players will be placed on a team that register before the deadline.
